To identify unique visitors accurately without storing personal identifiers, Traffic Mind immediately hashes IP addresses using the SHA-256 cryptographic algorithm combined with your WordPress site's secret salt (wp_salt('auth')).
Raw IP addresses are never saved in the website database. The resulting hash cannot be reversed to discover the visitor's real IP address.
By default, country geolocation is completely disabled. If the website administrator chooses to enable Country Geolocation in the settings, visitor IP addresses are matched against a lookup service (ip-api.com) over secure HTTP connections, and results are cached locally.
